Official Statement: On Nativity / Christmas Fast

16 November 2022 Greetings. Nativity fast is observed from Nov 15 to Dec 25, it is indeed observed by the Eastern Orthodox Church (and Catholic Church, as well). To quote Wikipedia, a free source of information that I would encourage people to donate to, "The Nativity fast traditionally entails fasting from red meat, poultry, meat products, eggs, dairy products, fish, oil, and wine". Though; oil, fish, and wine are permitted on feast days that would occur during this period. Maybe you want to join this fast, but you are not able to. Say; you are a student and you can barely afford to get the cheapest food, not even looking at the ingredients. Kindly do not starve yourself. Please eat, for Lord encourages education and health above wanting to follow food restrictions in fasts. On top of all that, fasts are not about food. It is more about refraining from detrimental activities and replacing them with better habits. You can work more on helping others. I am not talking about

Religious Questions #1: On Stoning

15 November 2022 Greetings, A fellow asked me yesterday, "Is stoning allowed?". It was a joke question that I answered regardless of the intention. The short answer is no. However, another fellow reminded me of Deuteronomy 13:6-10. I will quote 10 as follows: Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. My answer is still "No, stoning is not allowed." Now, why is it ordered this way? Context is very important in analyzing the verses. You can say that they can be split into a few groups: 1) The ones that don't change over time, 2) The ones that can be reformed through time (though you can not take the word "reform" as completely change, but take it as if updating the computer's operating system to fit the newest equipment of the era without changing the base at all), 3) The ones that were ordered to just particular groups of a particular time that only work

Official Statement: To Pope Francis of the Catholic Church

10 November 2022 Greetings, As an Archbishop who follows the news just as closely as you all do, I have been informed that Elon Reeve Musk has acquired ownership of Twitter. It has been welcomed with great enthusiasm by some, though resulting in great disappointment in the majority of the users and non-users alike. Unfortunately, despite being a CEO, Musk has forgotten a crucial aspect: the power of impersonation. The check mark next to one's Twitter name is supposed to signify that the owner is a real, approved known person. However, due to Musk's pay-for policies, a lot of users with check marks have emerged without an approved identity. It caused a sharp rise in the number of impersonating accounts, thus resulting in comical situations like the one above. I, as the Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus, am aware that the screen capture of the tweet above is not written by the real Pope, the head of the Catholic Church who resides in the Vatican City State. However, I

Official Statement: On the death of Chrysostomos II of Cyprus

9 November 2022 Greetings, On Monday, 7 November 2022, we received the news of the death of Chrysostomos II, the former Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus. He was born Irodotos Dimitriou in 1941 and had been the Archbishop since 2006. The reason for his death was intestinal cancer. As an Archbishop with a sickness myself, I desire to start my statement by highlighting the cause of death. Illnesses can be quite painful and detrimental to both mental and physical health, as expected. None can know the pain one goes through as the pain expands. Therefore, I will lower a flower of sympathy through words. I encourage anyone who is able to donate to cancer funds. However, it should be known that a person should be remembered for their mistakes as well, for the mistakes shall never be repeated again. I want to underline the existence of rather racist, anti-peace, and homophobic remarks of Chrysostomos. It should also be known that he was involved in the sheltering of a Malaysian c
